Eric L. Matthews, L.M.T, M.A.
Now in his seventh year of practice, Eric has been described by many as "a gifted healer" and "a miracle worker." His unique approach to, and application of, therapeutic massage and bodywork emerges naturally from countless hours of study, classroom instruction, supervised clinical practice, and private practice. He relies upon the rich, insightful traditions of both Eastern and Western thought, as well as bodywork modalities such as: Yoga, Qigong, Zen Shiatsu, Swedish Massage and Relaxation, Acupressure, Deep Tissue Therapy (including Trigger Point Therapy and Fascial Release), and Reflexology. He also understands the strong relationship between calm minds and healthy lives, and he seeks to maximize therapeutic outcomes for each client through his unique combination of massage and bodywork strategies accompanied by realistic, compassionate client education.
When not providing massage and bodywork for his clients, Eric works with community college students to help them cultivate within themselves a love of critical thinking, a desire to meaningfully engage their world, and the ability to express themselves through clear, thoughtful prose. Eric also devotes time to massage-related research, teaching, and writing interests.
All massage aside, Eric is passionate about lifelong learning and loves spending time with his family (pets included, of course), playing ukulele, gardening, and the great outdoors.
